An involvement in ASDA is an education about things that matter to us as students and as future dentists. Here at Midwestern we are a group of 542 strong members on a mission to learn everything we can, make a difference in our own way, and be on the path to becoming leaders of our respective communities.
Chapter President's Welcome
ASDA not only gives us the chance to learn about our role as future dentists, it also gives us the opportunity to focus on something besides academics. Dental school can be rough if you let it. Whether this means attending events or holding a leadership position, it’s important to take a break from the grind that is dental school. Balance and community is key to enjoying this journey!
Our mission, since 2006, has been to inspire and support every student-member with his or her journey through school and innovate leadership, service, and self-growth within different pillars of life.
Chapter Advisor's Welcome
One of my favorite leadership messages, by Lao Tzu, states that the mission is complete when the aim is fulfilled and the team can heartily say “we did this ourselves!” Being the ASDA Faculty Advisor at MWU CDMA, I can truly confess that our ASDA team embodies this statement. Engaged, forward thinking and empowered to realize goals are three ways I describe our leadership and membership. They embody the spirit of service to others. They create beautiful, well written publications that draw praise and awards. They inspire others to become involved and are active spokesmen for our profession in legislative affairs. I am thankful for the administrative support we receive and to be a part of this amazing group who will, undoubtedly, be dentistry’s future leaders. We are in good hands!
